OIL AND GAS Futures
Our team conducted a comprehensive data analytics assessment to analyze and visualize oil and gas futures, helping stakeholders uncover key market patterns, forecast price movements, and monitor economic factors influencing fuel futures. The dataset contained historical pricing, trading volumes, geopolitical events, and economic indicators across multiple fuel types, including crude oil, natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil.​

The primary objectives of this analysis were:

Identifying Market Trends – Analyzing historical data to uncover patterns in price fluctuations, trading volumes, and volatility factors affecting different fuel futures.

Monitoring Futures Performance – Examining the impact of macroeconomic indicators, geopolitical events, and supply-demand shifts on oil and gas futures.​​​

To achieve these objectives, we conducted Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) using Python (Pandas, NumPy) and Tableau to clean, preprocess, and visualize large datasets. We leveraged data engineering techniques to structure and optimize data pipelines, ensuring efficient handling of high-volume market data.

By integrating interactive visualizations and trend analysis, this project provided valuable insights into price fluctuations, risk factors, and investment opportunities, enabling industry professionals to make data-driven decisions and optimize trading strategies in the dynamic oil and gas market.
To analyze and visualize this data, we will first load the data in Python, perform some basic analysis and engineering, gather basic statistics on the data set to uncover any hidden patterns/outliers.

Tableau dashboard detailing stock price per fuel type over time, a interactive heat-map to filter for anomalous events, and bar chart detailing the relationship between the volume of shares at a given price, filtered by fuel type. All elements are interactive and can be filtered to the users liking.
